Hence it is called Chainpure Wooden shadan kukri.it has a beautiful blade with closed notch not found in other khukuris. The closed notch makes this khukuri very unique than others. It is not military issue but is used as domestic weapon by the gurkhas. The handle is made of wood, brass, aluminium. The length of the blade is 13 inch long and total measures 19 inch with 6 inch long handle.we can make in different sizes as customers desire. It can be engraved with dragon or other designs as your choice. The blade comes two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for striking spark from flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning, cutting paper and opening later. The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing and enemy blade. The handle is more practical, more beautiful.
