16 INCH BLADE D-GURARD BUSHCRAFT MACHETE
This is the 16″ Hand Forged Blade D-Gurard Machete Kukri. This is one of the latest products of Ex Gurkha Khukuri House (EGKH), based on a design by artist and writer Wm. Michael Mott. During the U.S. Civil War, there was no weapon more feared on the battlefield than the Confederate D-Guard Bowie. This weapon was as formidable as it was unique. Utilized as a camp and brush tool, a chopper, a fighting knife, and even as a terrifying harpoon when a rope was attached, this was the preferred weapon for close-quarter combat for a Confederate soldier. Union soldiers told horrified stories of their encounters with this type of knife, and the men who wielded it. This massive re-creation of a historical weapon features a powerful recurved bowie blade with a massive, sharp chopping edge, stabbing tip, and several inches of sharpened top edge as well. The steel guard can take punishment and can also dish it out, if necessary, as a punching/deflecting weapon. The quillioned upper guard is ideal for catching the incoming blade or other weapon of an opponent, and the thick, full-tang, 5160 steel construction of the whole knife is strong beyond belief.

It represents a melding of the Southern USA’s bowie knife, and the time-honored knife-making expertise of the Gurkhas of Nepal. Designed by the descendant of actual Confederate combatants, this knife represents a modern piece of American history and can be treasured as a family heirloom for decades or even centuries to come. Get one today and be ready for whatever apocalyptic visions haunt your imagination!
