CORONATION KHUKRI XXX RUM

The name “Khukri” is synonymous to the traditional knife of Nepal from ancient times. More than it being the revered and effective weapon, it is also the all purpose knife of the hill people. This rum is of subtle and complex nature and is distinguished by its lingering aroma, smooth and balanced flavour with a hint of oakwood.

This is the production of The Nepal Distilleries Pvt.Ltd. It is Nepal’s finest Rum since 1959 and can be proudly proclaimed as the “Taste of Himalayas”. We belief KHUKRI XXX Rum is one of the life’s pleasures. Drink it how you wish, but always drink it with pleasure. Bottled at 42.8% alcohol by volume. Rum generally conjures images of the Caribbean, of warm climates and fat lazy galleons. Rarely does one think of rum and envision the chilly mountains of the Himalayas. But Khukri Rum defies many expectations, from its uniquely shaped bottle (formed specifically after a knife designed for decapitation) to its surprisingly complex range of flavors.

To the nose, Khukri smells of sweet caramel toffee and cinnamon. It’s still clearly rum, but candied rum, perhaps. The flavor itself is light and sweet at first, and just a bit spicy. But as it warms along the tongue it seems to grow heavier, with a fuller, more robust and creamy sensation, evoking vanilla and syrup.

Coronation Khukri XXX Rum was specially developed in the shape of a “Khukri” (Dagger). Due to its unique shape, the bottle has to be individually manufactured by hand and has a rough finish. The khukri is a Nepalese knife used by the Gurkhas. Also known as khuhuri, the design is centuries old, with the blades typically between 12 and 15 inches long. Coronation Khukri XXX Rum 375 ml.
