NEPAL ARMY CEREMONIAL KUKRI

This Nepal Army ceremonial khukuri or kukri is issued to Nepalese Army for which they had to retain throughout their career. As the khukuri or kukri being the National Weapon, it is compulsary for the Army to carry it be it in a War, Duty or any National Ceremony. The Nepal Army carry this Ceremonial khukuri (kukri) on special occasions like ceremonial khukuri (kukri) drill before high ranking officers or dignitaries. The Nepal Army withdraw the khukuri (kukri) from the scabbard and display out for inspection with their rifle between their knees as a mark of respect to the officers and dignitaries. As this khukuri or kukri has become synonyms to their uniform, they had to maintain it as part of their dress. It is time and time again inspected by the High Ranking officers.
