The size is similar to Nepal army khukuri but the shape of the blade is alike to bhojpur khukuri. As everyone knows that the Khukuri or kukri is the National Weapon of Nepal and to not to use by Nepal Police and Armed Police Force is out of question. The Nepal Police khukuri or kukri is preferably made by Rose wood Handle and the blade is slightly broader than the Nepal Army Issue. This Nepal Police khukuri has the cross khukuri insignia at the end cap of the handle to distinguished themself as Nepal Police Force. All Khukuris have two pockets on the back of the scabbard which hold a blunt steel called “chakmak” for sharpening the blade or for striking spark from flint and a little knife known as “karda” used for skinning small animals such as rabbits. The notch (kaura or kaudi) in the blade near the hilt of most khukuris serves as conduit for the blood on the blade to drip out, thus preventing it from soiling the hilt, as well as a device for catching and neutralizing and enemy blade.
